Oak Skirting Boards – How to ‘Victoriana’ Your House
The Victorians invented skirting boards – a lot of houses of that era still carry the original features. But a load of houses were stripped in the fifties and sixties to make way for ‘clean lines’.
Recent years have seen a rise in a fad for Victoriana – elaborate designs, period features and traditional fittings. One of the quickest and easiest ways of doing this is by fitting oak skirting boards and dado rails – cornice work and a ceiling rose will seal the deal!
